Ebony Wood Bead Bracelet
An ebony wood bracelet in a Denver workshop
The scene below is a story, not a review from a buyer.
Sawdust and a dark bead
Luis swept sawdust in a Denver workshop he shared with two other makers and found, under the bench, a single black bead that was not his. It was lighter than stone and warmer in the hand. Ebony, he thought, or something stained to pass for it. He left it on the windowsill for its owner. The colour stayed with him: not shiny like plastic, not cold like hematite, a dense wood that looks almost wet when it is polished. He washed his hands at the tub and watched the water run grey.
What the bracelet is
PJ Teera Gems lists an ebony wood bracelet of polished beads about 8 to 12mm on a stretch cord, and it marks the beads AAA. It is sold from India as a simple wood bracelet, in the same shop as an ebony and rudraksha mala, though this listing is the bracelet alone. Ebony is a heavy, dark hardwood. Beads should feel smooth and slightly warm after a minute on the skin. The page is jewellery, not a gadget. Wood does not carry a result. It carries grain, or a tight polish where the grain is hard to see. Buyers in the US, the UK, Canada, and Australia order it because they want that darkness on the wrist without pretending it is stone.
If you also like rudraksha, the shop's ebony mala is a different product, with seeds and panchdhatu. Do not confuse the two URLs.
How people wear wood beads
Wood and water argue. Take the bracelet off to wash, swim, and cook. Dry wrists before you put it back. A little unfragranced oil once in a long while keeps some wood from looking chalky, but test one bead first and skip oil if you prefer the dry polish. Stretch cord still frays. Replace it early. Store the bracelet out of direct heat, away from a radiator and a car dashboard. People who work with their hands often keep wood jewellery for after the tools are put away. That timing is respect for the material.
The link
Free shipping to the US and the UK is shown, with a modest charge for many other countries, and international delivery is often about 7 to 12 days with tracking. Read the bead size on the page.
Polished ebony can be mistaken for black glass until you wear it for an hour and feel that it never turns as cold as stone. If the bead is unusually light or smells of dye, ask the shop a direct question before you keep it. Real wood jewellery is allowed to have a tiny pore or a slight oval. Perfect plastic sameness is the wrong test. Keep the bracelet away from the workshop sink, where Luis already lost an afternoon to grey water.
